Hi Alan/GNUCash users, A few points:
Which Ubuntu PPA did you use to install GNUCash? https://help.launchpad.net/Packaging/PPA https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ubuntu - it looks like Ubuntu 24.10/Oracular installs with the 256.5 version of systemd (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systemd) even though the current version is 257.5, so if you have not already updated systemd that may play a role. It also looks like a new version of Ubuntu, 25.04/Plucky, was released in the last week - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu https://flatpak.org/setup/Ubuntu & https://flathub.org/setup/Ubuntu - you may also be able to use the Flatpak version of GNUCash on Ubuntu and see if that setup works better. --- Thanks, Brad - https://www.facebook.com/brad.morrison.12327/ & https://nextdoor.com/profile/01mP46jj8KCzj3sP4 & https://norcal.social/@BradMorrison On 2025-04-23 13:45, Alan Johnson via gnucash-user wrote: > I have GnuCash 5.11 build date 2025-03-29, installed from a PPA on > Ubuntu 24.10/Oracular. > > It opens fine, but when I try to open a different gnucash file, it > quits.
