Hi, I'm in the UK and have all my accounts in GNUCash. I have to do a form for
my accountant every year which includes how much I spent on particular
categories - petrol, internet, charity x/y/z, etc etc - over the previous tax
year. At the moment I'm manually doing a search for each item (date posted
before/after the right dates, in this account, with this description), then do
an account report on the resulting list to get the total. It works but is
long-winded. It seems like there should be an easier way of doing things. Am I
missing anything obvious - is there a specific report that will give me what I
need?

Is there a way to set up some pre-saved searches that I can run each year as a
batch, but just tweaking the year?

Or is there a way to nest searches so that I do a search for all transactions
within the given time period, then run a secondary search for the particular
account/description within that, to avoid having to continually re-search on
the same dates? I know I can refine a current search, but the results replace
the original search rather than opening in a new tab.

Thanks!
