Gnucash 5.6 crashes when any report is selected. I suspect it has something to
do with libboost, since several of those libraries were recently upgraded.
Has anyone else seen this?
How did you install GnuCash and on what OS/distribution?
It's version 5.6.1, from Debian bookworm-backports. Downloaded and upgraded via
apt.
The libboost packages are version 1.74
Since it manifests when you select a report either WebKit or ICU is more likely
to be the problem than boost. I don’t think there’s anything in reports or html
that uses boost.
I wonder at that, but the only change in the dependencies involves the
boost libraries.
Running from the command line yields this: Could not create GBM EGL
display: EGL_NOT_INITIALIZED. Aborting..
That definitely is not from boost.
Getting a stack trace should indicate precisely what is the problem, but if
it’s a dependency issue you’ll need a recompile of GnuCash with the latest
versions. File a bug with Debian and include the stack trace.
I shall do that. First, I may reboot the machine. It may be an nvidia
library problem - I can't recall an upgrade recently. There may be an
interaction among libraries involved.
Thank you
Cam
