Thanks for the suggestion but that doesn't work. All variations offered in "Report variation" have no effect on the depreciation value.

I have also changed over to the flatpak version on GNUCash. Hadn't realised the Ubunutu version was so far out of date.

Now running:

Version: 5.12
Build ID: Flathub 5.12-1
Finance: Quote: 1.66

The default trial balance report is point-in-time as indicated by the title “Trial
balance <Date>”. If you want a time period report select No adjusting/closing
entries or Full end-of-period work sheet in the Report Variation field on the report
options General tab.

I think I may have found a bug in the Trial Balance report. Here is what I do:

Reports -> Income and Expense -> Trial Balance

Options (Toolbar):
Accounts (Tab) -> Select all
General Tab -> Set "Start of Adjusting / Closing": 01/11/2023
General Tab -> Set "Date of Report": 01/11/2024
Press "Apply", & "Close"

This leaves me with a value in my"Expenses:Depreciation" account that includes
entries dated for 31/10/23, one day before the Start of Adjusting date. I thought the
trial balance should sum entries in the expense accounts that occurred within the date
range?

Thanks!
