Then, the one additional point is significant. That means, if you drop
the "Match display threshold" to 0, you should get those that
transactions within the "Likely match day threshold" to match everything
else being equal.
> Are the dates in the help example OK,
If you're referring to Figure 10.5, the default thresholds are "OK" but
assume a narrower date range for a likely match and unlikely match than
I experience in practice.
Note: There are other transaction attributes in addition to Date that
are considered in the matching algorithm. See
https://www.gnucash.org/docs/v5//C/gnucash-manual/trans-import.html#trans-import-matcher
> What are your other values,
In addition to the "Likely match day threshold" and "Unlikely match day
threshold", the only other difference on the "Import" tab compared to
Figure 10.5 is I uncheck "Enable update match action".

Sherlock,
No most were only off by one. I will give the 14 and 28 day a try. Are the
dates in the help example OK, What are your other values, I might try them,
but I won't have another opportunity to try an import until the 23rd or so.
Thank You,

Subject: Re: [GNC] Importing
Gyle,
An exact date match is only worth one more point than a likely date
match. Are the dates of the imported transactions that don't match off
by more than 4?
I found the "Likely match day threshold" and "Unlikely match day
threshold" worked better at 14 and 28, respectively, but YMMV.

I changed my Import preferences to match those shown in the help screen. Now when I
import an OFX file the match does not work unless the dates are exactly the same.
Everything is in red and it wants to add them all as new transactions. If I click on the
"C"lear box it finds the match, but it did that automatically before. What
should I set the values to in preferences so that it matches automatically like it used
to do or is this a bug 5.12. I just upgraded to Gnu 5.12 and use Win 11 as my OS.
