Michael — you last statement is correct. I experimented with the report and if
you go to the options, you can change the plot height and width. I tried 75%
on both and it came out really nice to fit for the report. Give it a try.

Thanks, Ken,

I thought I’d tried the switch to landscape in earlier experiments, and got the
same image = the whole graph but no key.

But now I’ve tried using the landscape setting and I lose the bottom half of
the graph on to a second page.

Here’s what I got by saving to HTML and then exporting to PDF.

Maybe to do with the distance between the top of longest positive bar and
bottom the longest negative bar?

I am running version 5.12 (latest version) on Windows and when I print to a PDF
file it is fine. However, the key is I changed the orientation to landscape.
If I did not change the orientation to landscape, the graph would be to large
to allow the color key to print and it would be cutoff. Could this be your
issue? Try seeing if you can change the orientation to landscape and see if
you get the whole graph with the scale at the far right side.

Morning, all,

iMac with Sequoia 15.6.1 running GnuCash 5.11.

Although other reports can be printed or made into PDFs without trouble, the
Barchart loses the key to the colours used when printed.

I’ve worked around the problem by Exporting to HTML, opening the HTML file in
Safari, and printing or exporting to PDF from there.

Bug or feature?

Michael
