You do not say what OS you are using but I will operate on the assumption
that it is Windows 10, soon to migrate to Windows 11. Upgrading to release
5.12 is as easy as downloading and installing it on your Windows 10
machine. It will automatically remove release 4. whatever.. I will warn
you that release 5.12 may have a flaw that you don't like, but I don't
remember what it is. It did make me stay with release 5.11, tho. You do
not want to wait for release 5.21, it won't be out for a very long time.

Once release 5.something has touched your data file, you will prefer to
stay in the 5 series. I recommend making an additional backup of your
older data file on a separate media before migrating. Put the digit 4
somewhere in the filename.

Your second step will require moving your data if it is on your 'C' drive.
If you have already moved it to an external drive you are one step ahead of
the game. You may still need to move your 'user' settings if you have
custom reports, for example. There are instructions in the FAQ's about
that.
