I am pleased to report that the solution suggested by Sherlock has worked, 
without destroying any of the other settings I'd set previously, so thank you 
both for your help.

I've only ever used the normal installer before, but I'll try this, and assume 
it's just a case of taking the most up-to-date exe from the stable releases 
(gnucash-5.13-2025-10-13-git-5.13-9-ge22c406547+.setup.exe) and installing it 
as normal. If not, please let me know if I need to take any special precautions 
with this type of installation.
