If I remember correctly, Peachtree is the same as Sage line 50. The 'database' for Sage was a real pig's ear and could cause problems if the PC crashed when writing data - especially a networked version.
You would likely be able to export the Banking, customer and supplier list as a CSV and import those into Gnucash, and probably the Chart of Accounts. You might be able to export the closing balances of banks, customers and suppliers too, as separate CSV's. The transactions data might be more tricky, in fact I probably wouldn't go there. My suggestion would be to export the Banks, Customers and Suppliers details, the closing balances of those, the COA - or set up a new COA within Gnucash. Then import those details into Gnucash and start afresh, keeping Peachtree and it's data for reference. Other Gnucash users may have other solutions that I have forgotten or don't know of, but my experience of Sage and its quirks over 20 years of using it makes me think that my solution may save a lot of wasted time and grief.
