I appreciate Bruck Schuck and others who released Finance::Quote 1.68 an hour ago. AlphaVantage undermined F::Qs rate retrieval fromAlphaVantage, and I am looking forward to 1.68 working around that problem.

Thank you.

However, when I try to install Finance::Quote either from GnuCash
or CPAN shell, I get error 404s, meaning they can't find the 1.68 archiveat the proper URL. But my web browser can retrieve the archive file from that URL.

How do I resolve this problem?  Wait for more time, for something
to propagate?
You are correct, wait a bit. I was getting the same immediately after I received the message from CPAN indicating the bundle was successfully indexed. But it wasn't until about 30-45 minutes later that I was able to successfully install it. Blame it on CPAN weirdness. I was seeing the 404 error while attempting a simple "wget", even though the new release was showing up in the listing of my files at https://www.cpan.org/authors/id/B/BP/BPSCHUCK/.

It was indeed a matter of time. Two and a half hours after my first attempt, my second attempt to install Finance::Quote 1.68 was successful.

In the hopes of helping others in this situation in the future, I added a section about upgrading on the Finance::Quote page in the GnuCash wiki: <https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Online_Quotes#Updating_Finance::Quote_to_a_new_version>. (Though this page is long and tangled enough that the information may be pretty hard to find.)

Also, version 1.68 successfully completed my daily quotes update via AlphaVantage, working around their new API rate limitations. Yay!
