Back in the old days of pen and ink on paper, this was one of the rules
of thumb for finding a transposition of digits error (common during the
"posting" process). For us old timers, that gnucash does error free
"posting" (in effect, with gnucash the journal is virtual even when
entering in that mode) is the BIGGEST advantage of computerized double
entry bookkeeping. Essentially gnucash is "cashbook style" data entry
extended to the entire ledger.
