I too built a 5.14 Linux executable on Ubuntu 24.04 and have not (yet)
encountered any problems.
FWIW I used the 22.10 instructions at
https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Building_On_Ubuntu and they worked
flawlessly on 24.04.

I've seen some discussion about issues installing on Windows, but was
hoping people would weigh in on how well they upgrade works for us
