Gyle,

I just tried duplicating what you described here; but that's not what's happening for me.  I changed a view on one of my open tabs to Transaction Journal. and then after that I changed Register Defaults -> Default Style to Auto-Split Ledger.  And that updated Default Style applies to everything.  The only thing I had to do was to close the open tab and then reopen it.  When that tab reopened the View was set to Auto-Split Ledger.  Are you closing and then reopening the tab that you previously set to Transaction Journal?

them to "Auto-split Ledger", but if I decided to go back to "Basic Ledger", I would have to change these manually again. Is there a way to tell
Gnucash that I want all tabs to go to the default view? It would be great if on the individual tab view there was also an option for the "Default" in addition
to the "Basic Ledger", "Auto-split Ledger", and "Transaction Journal".

Thank You,
