Is the number you put in the "amount" or the "value"? The amount is in the account commodity The value is the transaction currency.

This is GnuCash 5.12 on Fedora Linux 41 on Intel x86_64 "Accounts" is the current pane in view (so should search all accounts). I do Ctrl-F to get the Find Transaction popup. I click on the Description tab and change it to Value. I enter the value I am looking for. I click on Find. A transaction is found with that value. But, another transaction with that same value is not found.
