I'm using 5.14 and I don't see that behavior.
I just tested drilling down from an Aging report to get to a Vendor
report. The focus changed to the Vendor report opened immediately
below (or right) as expected. When I closed that tab, focus returned
to the Aging report which was above it (or left), as it was the
original tab I was viewing before the drill-down.

I'm 5.14 also. Sadly, mine doesn't behave like yours, unless, as I
described previously, I ensure the report I'm drilling into is the
bottom tab.
Still, that works for me so I'm happy now!
