I canm understand your rustratio because sometimes it seems there are a lot of emails. (On the other hand, sometimes several days can pass with nothing in the mailing list.) But on what basis would you "cut down ... the [number] of emails received"? Delete all but every tenth email? Delete all emails from certain people? Delete all emails with certain keywords in their subject lines? Your email client should give you the ability to filter incoming mail, and delete or move to Trash emails meeting criteria that you specify. But the GnuCash mailing list does not offer filtering. The GnuCash mailing list does let you switch to digest mode. In theory that means you get one email a day, with all that day's messages in one bundle. In practice when I was in digest mode, more days than not I would receive several bundle messages, which made it very hard to follow conversations, so I turned off digest mode and set up filters. I'm not recommending digest mode, but that's the only way I know of to get the GnuCash mailing list software to reduce the number (though not the volume) of emails for you. You can switch to digest mode here: https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-user But really I think your better bet is to create filters in your mail client.
