You *can* set a scheduled transaction to create x number of days in advance. 
It's in the transaction settings. If you want these created automatically, 
there's a program setting for that as well. 

Many have noted in the past that the scheduled transaction routine only runs at 
startup automatically; if you never close GnuCash, you have to trigger the 
process manually.
