Hello, Roger. Thank you for mentioning your operating system; that makes
it easier to answer your question with specifics.

Your reports, accelerator keys, and the geometry of the registers are in
%APPDATA%\GnuCash. These will not be changed or removed by your upgrade
to 4.14. (They were not changed when I upgraded from a 3.x version to
4.14.) However, if you want to remove all possible doubt you can make a
backup copy of that folder. (You should probably be backing it up
anyway, as part of your regular backup of your computer.)

Your preferences are in the Windows System Registry, specifically in
HKCU\SOFTWARE\GSettings\org\gnucash\GnuCash, and I'm 95% sure that
settings are not changed by an upgrade. If you want to remove all
possible doubt, you can back them up as follows:
1. run the Windows program regedit
2. paste into the location bar just under the menu, and press Enter
3. right-click on GSettings and select Export

I notice you said "we". Both the folder and the registry key are
per-user locations, meaning that each user login that runs GnuCash on
your computer has its own copy of these.
