I think your main problem may be a currency issue.  What do you have set for

Edit / Pref / Accounts / Default currency

and why are your Canadian$ to $ rates so far off?  How have you been entering currency transactions?

I ran the report Reports > Income & Expense > Profit & Loss - pic2 and
noticed four columns
1.      Account name
2.      correct amount that I want the report to 'pull' data from
3.      in-correct amount that report is incorrectly pulling data from
4.      sum of incorrect amounts for the time period as "Total Expenses"

I ran the Reports > Income & Expense > Income & Expense Barchart and set the
parameters to the same as the pie chart. This chart - pic 3 is correct as it
pulled the data from column #2 above.

This begs the question, where is the parameter to set  " Reports > Income &
Expense > Expense Piechart" to pull the data set that I want? (I do not see
it in Edit > Report Options).
