What macOS version are you running and is your computer Apple Silicon or Intel? Had macOS upgraded around the time you first noticed the problem? If so, what are the old and new versions?
What GnuCash version did you have installed before? What backend are you using? If it’s XML do you have compression enabled in Settings>General>Files? Open Finder and navigate to your GnuCash directory in iCloud Drive. Does the base GnuCash file show up there? If so, does it have an iCloud status indicator next to it (see https://support.apple.com/en-asia/guide/mac-help/mchlc994344b/mac)? Look in particular for the dotted-cloud meaning “Waiting to upload”. Is there an error message at the top of the Finder window?
