+++++++++ My previous note was in error. The sporadic mod_perl problem remains. I have given up. I have instead explained in the documentation that there is a sporadic problem, and left it to someone else to fix it. It appears to me that trying to make Perl scripts compatible with mod_perl is not worth the effort.
