I vote for a 3.8 release: GNU Go 3.6, released November 17, 2004 and 3.7.10 May 22, 2006 was used in Torino in 2006... It seems rather stable :) Some distributions are still using 3.6, and thus cannot provide useful bugreports (for example cache problems).
