I  guess it depends, I think it's usually 8.5 in fact the first move is even 
more effective on 9X9 than 19X19. but anyways you can play some gnugo vs gnugo 
matches and see what's  right for gnugo.

Sorry if this question has already been asked but... what is the
correct komi for 9x9, if both sides playout with uniformly random
moves (with the exception of not filling obvious eyes). I get this
weird result of negative komi due to whoever playing first dies bigger
more often in the end.
