Hi all,
Just for technical details,
Syan's client is using a JDBC driver type IV (http://jdbc.postgresql.org),
that, as described in (http://java.sun.com/products/jdbc/driverdesc.html)
is a driver that 'naturally speaks' the network protocol of the DMBS, so does not
interface with libpq...
But I can't say anything about the implications, the relation with our python library
to access the backend and this particular thread... O:)
Best regards, carlos

However, with pyPgSQL you are stuck, much harder to port
Because of libpq being in C ? Are you saying that Ian's library ran w/o interfacing libpq ? I must have missed that.
