The workspace is determined by the config file. The client
can be started with different config files - also
concurrently...
So on the machine in room A you set up two entries in the
GNUmed menu under your account. You might name them "GNUmed
- Ultrasound" and "GNUmed - PE". The first is called with
--conf-file=$home/.gnumed/gm-ultrasound.conf while the
second is called with --conf-file=$home/.gnumed/gm-pe.conf.
Very helpful.
Now how does this method relate to some earlier discussion that I
captured on the wiki page (link below). There had been an idea of
adding to the login window a "workplace profile" but was
maybe Hilmar's the last word when he "voted for not adding
another field to the gnumed dialog"?
Meaning maybe workplace selection is defined by whichever config
file was specified (if other than the default). So would the idea
change to be able select a config file from a login window popup
field, would that be seen as useful but low-priority?

Lastly Hilmar mentioned
... does this mean there is a current or future-planned
implementation that depends on a value for public.staff_role to
control or assist workplace definition
