The mailcap mechanism already supports that (explicitely) to
some extent: There can be separate entries for view, print,
and edit per mime type. Implicitely there is support for
arbitrary levels of differentiation: Mailcap supports
"tests" which are its version of IFDEFs.

Not all mailcap implementations support all the features,
though, supposably.
