Yes, that's a use case. It is indeed preferable to be able
to find matches for searches even inside
blobs-happening-to-be-text. To facilitate this my suggestion
is to store textual representations of blobs (be it the blob
itself once again or be it an OCR translation of a scanned
letter) in a place that's searched for matches, too. Which
is blobs.doc_desc.
