Hi all, as Carsten already mentioned - Compromed was developed by a commercial vendor for a long time. Okay, afaik it was developed by a single programmer/doctor, based on MS-DOS. And it still is. I met Meditux on the Linuxtag 2006 (because i was working for a case study and thought about cooperating with an already used system) and they showed me a running version of their work:
- Compromed itself is used as a billing module but is a "full" EMR programm. It has been used in around 20-40 surgerys. - After Compromed got bankrupt / stopped support (i donŽt know for sure), Meditux (or better MultiData-GmbH, where the developers come from) bought it - Since their first ideas (i think in 2005) they replaced some parts of the old DOS-GUI of Compromed with QT4-GUI-Elements and developed a simple document management system. Also they invented some statistic features in OpenOffice. - After they published the first ideas of Meditux, they got into bad trouble with their former Partner (COMPUGROUP), because they propagated their software as open and independent from the pharma-sponsored systems. Their was lots of trouble with their attorneys going around, they published the letters online (i think it was on compromed.de or multidata-gmbh.de) and ran into trouble again. So, its sad but true, that Meditux (or Compromed) is used in around 20 surgerys but is going down like "Titanic" - if it isnŽt already at the bottom of the sea. Afaik, the main developer of Meditux is receiving mails from the Gnumed-Devel List, too. Perhaps he can give an insight of their actual work.
