Looks like it's called gtk2 http://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror/scientificlinux.org/4x/i386/SL/RPMS/gtk2-2.4.13-14.i386.rpm which is not exactly modern. It seems like a Fedora/RH derivative which explains the lack of gnumeric.
