Pick one of the package managers -- fink or macports. There will be some
effort involved in getting started with either, but not as much work as
building all the dependencies on your own.

I don't think there's a native installer available. Every once in a while
someone proposes a native port (these days it would be likely to use the
aqua gtk+), but I don't think anyone who knows how to do it has undertaken
the project.

Macports generally has the new bleeding edge stuff sooner than fink. I
maintain the fink gnumeric package, and I'm not as quick to stay up-to-date
on new releases. But both fink and macports have gnumeric 1.10.12.
