Sorry, but following up my own erroneous message.

Closing Parcellite did not solve the issue.

Since Gnumeric behaves perfectly when I log in as a normal user on the
host machine, I'm now believing that the behaviour is connected to
logging in to that machine from a remote desktop using NXClient, and
then using Gnumeric.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where the problem might lie?
