I still have not been able to determine the root cause, although I have been going through the libraries and lib directories listed in my build logs. Could the Xcode linker [1] itself be an issue, I wonder? Has anybody subscribed to this mailing list successfully built libassuan 3.0.1 on macOS using Apple's Xcode toolchain?
