Hi David, Further to my previous posting, I applied the patch to a fresh copy of 2.0.1, and tried ./configure --disable.nls The results were exactly the same as previously reported. If you are interested and authorize me, I can send you, directly, the *whole* output, from patches (your own patch, and Werner's patch for g10), up to end of make.
