On Mac OS X (you're using Applemail) and other *nix platforms, it is ~/.gnupg,
which is a shortcut for $HOME/.gnupg. A directory named .gnupg in your main
user folder. Since the name begins with '.' it is normally hid from Finder and
other file managers.

On Windows, GnuPG's files are stored by default in %APPDATA%\GnuPG. This
usually translates as

 - Window XP and earlier (XP/2000/NT) -
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\GnuPG

 - Windows Vista and Windows 7:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\gnupg

In either of the above, the default location may be overridden by setting the
environment variable GNUPGHOME.
