Is gpgsm supposed to be openssl compatible? I spent a week trying to create SSL
certificates from GPG keys, and neither program would read the other's output.

The gpg/sm documentation, as I previously reported, is pretty newcomer
unfriendly. I wonder whether I misunderstood the gpgsm premise, as other
sources say that gpg and openssl are not meant to interoperate at all because
they have entirely different purposes.

I wanted to see if I could figure out the intended usage from the C source, but
it's too impenetrable for me.

I reiterate my offer to assist with the documentation if I can get support in
understanding the software.
