Hello,

What should I be looking at to work with an old version of GnuPG having sufficiently outdated cipher and checksum algorithms to verify a Usenet message¹ from 1995?

Should I try to get Debian Hamm (or earlier) in a 32-bit VM and work from there? Or would another approach be recommended?

I realize that the cipher and checksum algorithms have moved on since 1995 so this is mostly a formality to see that the copy is accurate in lieu of MD5 etc.

Regards,
Lars
