----- Original message -----
Hello,
this is my first message in this list.

While creating my new keypair, I noticed that some strings in the
Italian translation needed to be fixed or improved, for example:

#, c-format
msgid " (%d) sign\n"
msgstr " (%d) segno\n"

In Italian, "segno" is a noun meaning "sign" or "mark", whereas here
the verb "to sign" is meant.

Having seen that, I cloned the GnuPG repo and looked into the po/it.po file,
which led me to make a lot of changes to amend or improve the Italian
translation. The attached patch is the result.

Please let me know whether this is the right way to submit translation
updates, or if I should do it differently. Also, since this is my first
contribution, I would appreciate it if someone could review the translation
before it is merged.

Best regards
