hello all

I am not a developer or a programmer. I have been trying to complete a laptop
with Nexenta as the OS. Anil is aware of some of the sticking points I've run
into with the desktop. I've somewhat backed off worrying about the desktop end
for the moment. As of today, I have a CF-73 Panasonic Toughbook running a
2.0Ghz Pentium M 760 CPU 533 FSB 915 chipset. Atheros ABGN mini-pci internal
wireless, Marvell Yukon gigabit ethernet, DVD-RAM drive.

I doubt this is much of a milestone for you guys but I'm pretty happy that I
was successful in getting the wireless to function.

apt-get update was performed completely wirelessly. I am using a sierra
wireless EVDO broadband modem on a cradlepoint MBR-1000 router. My first
attempts to even ping the repository were unsuccessful. It seems as though it
had to learn the routes just like a router does. after I pinged a cisco address
successfully, then returned to ping the repository, it succeeded and showed it
"alive". At that point I ran the apt-get update again and it worked. I don't
know if it was the activity of pinging or just waiting for time to allow for
routing updates.

so now I guess I go back to trying to get a desktop working on this laptop?
StormOS?

Thanks all

Robert
