I suggest to wait till Alpha 2 will come out, since a lot of bugs got
fixed and a lot of new software added, including KDE, C# and J . It
should be out by the end of next week or so...

It should no be a problem to establish network connection from out of
live cd, mount your HDD partition and copy those files.
