Hi -- I'm running NexentaCore 1.0.5 (uname says nexentacore 5.11 NexentaOS_20080312) running in a VirtualBox VM.
I configured SMB sharing on with zfs set sharesmb=on tank/shares/mike svcadm enable -r smb/server smbadm join -w WORKGROUP I'm having two problems with Samba sharing. First problem: I'm able to mount the share on a Windows system if I explicitly mount it. The server name does show up under Network Neighborhood browser, but Windows Explorer hangs searching for shares. On Linux, using KDE konqueror, I can display all exported SMB file systems by entering "smb://nexenta". A search at opensolaris.org uncovered one comment about browsing, which said that this was supported with file system version 9 or later. I'm running version 10. Second problem: Solaris smbd issues a message "NbtDatagramDecoder[11]: too small packet" about every ten minutes. I can't tell where this is coming from, but it happens even if the Windows system is offline. Any suggestions on addressing these problems? -- Michael Eager [EMAIL PROTECTED] 1960 Park Blvd., Palo Alto, CA 94306 650-325-8077 _______________________________________________ gnusol-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.sonic.net/mailman/listinfo/gnusol-users
