What are the philosophies between these 2 projects and why dont' you

A good question. Somewhat prohibitive is Cocotron's BSD-type license
vs. GNUsteps GNU-type license. Many closed source developers fear GNU
licenses.
Cocotron pro's:
- Tight Xcode integration.
- Single script installer - complains about installation issues are
rare.
- MS Windows is the primary target - an advantage for those wanting
to deploy on Windows.
- Standalone applications.
- Very low get-started-barrier.
- Deals well with it's incompleteness.
GNUstep pro's:
- More careful written code - lots of comments in there.
- Doesn't try to reinvent the wheel and makes use of dependencies
like libjpeg, cairo.
- Bigger community.
- Independent of Xcode, you can build on Linux/FreeBSD/Windows/
whatever as well.
- Most of Cocotron's advantages could be implemented without too much
effort.
- More complete.
