The 256KB that the GBA ships with is a lot less than even the cheapest computer that NeXT produced in the '80s. You're likely to find squeezing GNUstep into even 8MB difficult, and that's assuming you have execute-in-place (the code size alone for the Foundation framework is on the order of 10MB). That said, we're going to be spending some time here in Cambridge over the summer looking at defining a subset of Objective-C aimed at resource constrained environments, such as kernels, which may be more applicable.
