Hi, I have done some enhancements to the script you give away for download the Windows ports of GNU tools.
I have placed a copy on my webpage as http://www.mewes.tv/gnuwin32/sam-download.bat.zip as well as http://www.mewes.tv/gnuwin32/sam-download.bat I think this is more secure otherwise it may be filtered on the way to you. What I did: Selection of three mirrors to be set in the script instead of appliying them on the commandline prior to run it. I think this is a better automatism. If the download of the first mirror does not work, the script goes to the second and finally to the third. What I want to do is to enhance it to try all the major mirrors automatically instead of letting the user guess the right one. He should be able to locate the closest mirror to his position and the script will determine how to build the mirror list like this: User enters "mesh" because of his location in germany. So the script will start with mesh, then try the other european mirrors, then the american ones and at last the asian ones and so on. I have inserted a kind of debug switch in the script what I call "semi auto mirror download", that's what the filename is for, but if you find this script useful, please feel free to rename it download.bat and just add some credits for me in the header. I am subscribed to the to mailinglists at sourceforge and I am monitoring this project as a paying member, so maybe we'll see us on the list. bis dahin / kind regards Martin Mewes MCP 070-270,070-290,070-291,070-293, 070-298 -- http://www.mewes.tv/ - Homepage http://mbox.mewes.tv/ - Mailinglisten zum Downloaden ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
