Hi folks,

I'm wondering if the GnuWin32 version of tar will preserve symbolic links across platforms. I realize there are some issues, such as the fact that NTFS symbolic links <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_symbolic_link> are absolute, but Posix ones can be relative. And that you can't have more than 31 symbolic links in the same path in NTFS. And that you have to have special permission to create symbolic links in Windows. But does GnuWin32 tar make an effort to preserve symbolic links?

Thanks,
Lyle
