Those things happen. Soft play by Parise on the 4th goal as well. On the
other hand Wideman made a real nice block on the penalty kill before the Bruins
scored to make it 4-1. Big penalty kill coming up to close out the second
period.

Now here is where I think most fans have been wrong about how the Bruins are
playing. The Pittsburgh game for instance, and the LA game as well. They all
didn't play poorly, and I can almost assure you it's going to look like they
let up in third period because it's a big game, New Jersey is going to be going
all out in the third period to tie the game. Like almost every game in the NHL
when a team enters the third trailing, they carry the play to the leading team.
If they don't tie the game, the team that had the lead looks like they played
well. If they do tie it, it looks like they played poorly. It's like that
save Thomas made in the final minute. He kicks out a leg, makes a great save
when he has to. It didn't go in, things look good. That's the kind of thing
you need from your goaltender. They are going into the third period with a 3
goal lead, they should win.

It was some soft play by the Bruins leading to the NJ goal.

They are certainly getting the bounces today. I'm sure Brodeur would like the
second goal back (maybe he was having a problem with his mask?), he didn't have
a chance on the other two.

Wrap around goals always look bad, and generally they are. I think the point I
would make is that if the team has confidence, and they don't happen on a
regular basis, they are easily dismissed. I just think that where the Bruins
are now, if they surrender one of those goals, look out. But it's 3-0, they
are looking good. Still playing physical, skating hard.

The first New Jersey goal was not a soft goal, it shouldn't bother them in the
least.
