On a promising note, they were able to regroup and come back to
win, and
that may ironically be the real message that Gainey & Co
received.
I suppose gainey and Company are somewhat pleased with the night as they
accomplished a big part of what they set out to do but clinching a playoff spot
tonight. What I hope the Bruins learned from the game is that when they stick
to their game, they are a much better team than the scabs are. The Bruins
won, and that's good, but I'm a little disappointed that it didn't come in
regulation, especially given that they had a 2-goal lead and were in control of
the game at one point. As I said earlier in this discussion, right or wrong,
it's not the instigator that usually ends up on the short end of the stick when
you goad other players, and I am certain no scab fans think that o'bryne is a
snivelling coward. I also think all that pushing and shoving is utter
nonsense, and Milan Lucic, much as I like the guy has got to play under control
when the playoffs start. The Bruins were pretty lucky not to lose Lucic to a
game misconduct. SInce Thornton had
dropped his gloves to engage komaserek the Bruins wouldn't have had much of an
argument if Lucic had gotten a game misconduct for being the third man in. I
also think punching or shoving a player is pretty meaningless. The most
physically intimatading play in that entire game wasn't Chara punching
komisarek, or Thornton taking on komaserak, it was Patrice Bergeron handing out
a perfectlu clean body check to *I wear a dress* Not only is living well the
best revenge, solid body checks that knock you off your feet hurt a lot more
than being pushed or shoved.
