Dear GRNetters,
THis is a query regarding a possible Goa connection of a quite interesting
character from Guyana (Then British Guiana, even though when he was born
the place was under Dutch administration) -- John Orr. According to some
sources he spent time in some prison in Goa in the 1840s; he was a
protestant preacher who often fought against catholicism, but i am not sure
what was the reason he went to jail in Goa, if he did at all -- and if he
in fact was in Goa at all. Anyone here ever heard of him? MANY THANKS
Cristiana
