Dear Stephan, You have been rejecting some suggestions using the term "speculation" as a self-sufficient argument.
It is obviously necessary to undertake some planning for the immediate future; while in the distant future, so much may have happened that detailed analysis now is truly only speculation. Where do you, personally, draw the line between planning and speculation? Other people may draw it differently. What do you consider the reasonable range? It will help others to understand, and avoid unnecessary argument if you explain what you mean by it in chronological terms. Yours, Dr. David Goodman Associate Professor Palmer School of Library and Information Science Long Island University [email protected]
