<Apologies for cross posting>

Hello,

A new blog on the AOASG site – “Lost & found: challenges accessing government
research” has just gone live
http://aoasg.org.au/lost-found-challenges-accessing-government-research/

“While there’s been much angst about the locking away of academic literature
and sky-high fees for libraries to access academic journals, what about all the
other sources of publicly-funded material? Why are they also not included in
the brave new world of open access?...”
The story, written by PhD Scholar Belinda Thompson, points out that issues
relating to access to research go well beyond the ivory tower. The public purse
funds a wide array of research outside of university walls, and much of that is
simply invisible.
Have a read.
Danny
