The first quarter of the Dramatic Growth of Open Access is now available:
http://poeticeconomics.blogspot.ca/2014/04/dramatic-growth-of-open-access-first.html

Highlights: featured are three open access initiatives with particularly strong
growth this quarter, the Directory of Open Access Books, Highwire Press' free
sites, and PubMedCentral (with 5 of the top 15 indicates by percentage of
growth). PMC growth indicators include a 20% annual growth rate (5% this
quarter alone) in the number of journals actively participating in PMC, now up
to 1,769 journals.

Note that DOAJ titles have decreased this quarter due to a vigorous weeding
process at DOAJ. While the number of journal titles in DOAJ has decreased, the
total number of articles searchable at an article level has increased by more
than 20 thousand articles in this time frame.

The downloadable data versions are now available in the Scholar's Portal
Dataverse (thanks to University of Ottawa Library), along with the most recent
version of the Rationale & Method. If you use this data, please cite as:
